Uganda Pide Parade

Even though, it is a risk in Africa to identify as gay, there are some Africans in Uganda who are tired of hiding and are not afraid to show their community that they are gay.   The Uganda gay community decided to show their community members that there are gays living in Africa.  They did it by having their first gay pride parade.  Gay pride parades happen throughout the whole world, it’s a celebration/type of sign showing the world that there are many of us and we are all over the world.  The Uganda pride went pretty well, selling about 250 tickets and having countless drag shows, and run ways.  I’m sure it took a lot of courage for these gays in Uganda to show their community members who they really are; I respect them in many ways for not being afraid and standing up for their beliefs and rights.
